About Leading Edge Cryogenics

Cryogenics is the study of the physics of materials at temperatures below -96 degrees Fahrenheit.

Since 1990, Leading Edge Cryogenics (LEC) has been identifying and developing the technology to improve the performance properties of materials by applying cryogenic temperatures.

To achieve this, LEC applies a proprietary process development approach called Cryogenic Process Engineering™ (CPE). CPE brings together the science of materials engineering and the structured application of cryogenic temperatures to achieve specific, volumetric (not just surface) improvements in the physical properties of product materials that can lead to increased product performance, greater product reliability, and longer product life.

Leading Edge Cryogenics has already been granted patents for the application of cryogenics to the treatment of three specific products: Brake Pads, Spark Plugs, and Orthopedic Implants. LEC is the only company to have patented cryogenic treatment in these applications.
